Webinar: Thermal Conductivity Testing of Pressure Sensitive Adhesives for EV Systems

Wednesday, August 19, 2026 2:00 PM GMT-3 (10:30 PM IST) Online Webinar

Pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) films play a growing role in electric-vehicle battery modules — bonding pouch cells, supporting module assembly and shaping how heat moves through the pack. Whether an adhesive behaves as a thermal conductor or a thermal barrier directly affects battery safety, cell longevity, thermal-runaway management and overall pack performance.

This webinar demonstrates how to measure the thermal conductivity of thin PSA films using C-Therm’s Trident Thermal Conductivity Instrument with the TPS Thin Films Utility. The method measures micron-scale adhesive films directly, in accordance with ISO 22007-2, without stacking multiple layers into a thicker sample — stacking can introduce interfacial defects that skew results.

Using a commercial acrylic PSA film as a case study, the session shows how thermal conductivity testing helps evaluate film thickness, production consistency, adhesive layering and the effect of a PET-laminated interlayer.

What you will learn

  • Measuring the intrinsic thermal properties of thin adhesive films
  • How thin-film conductivity data supports EV battery material selection and adhesive formulation
  • Thermal-barrier design, process optimisation and battery-module thermal management
